I've returned to it time and time again over the years and it's never failed to deliver, which says quite a bit. They're well saturated, punchy, and nicely nuanced in shading and shadow. The image is inherently clean and shows only trace levels of banding in one or two shots. Fish don't float on screen, they float within a body of oh- so-convincing water teeming with the tiniest particles, creatures, reflections of light, shifts in the current, rising bubbles and settling sand. The film is more a journey of the spirit than it is the body, and with excellent depth of character support complimenting the outer layers, the film plays very well and works as a quality sequel to a great original.
